Moviehole heard from Kevin Smith the other day who said he’s only "Kinda attached" to "Scary Movie 3". Now JoBlo has more : "Smith explained saying he was offered the job to write, declined and instead suggested his pal Bryan Lynch, who directed Big Helium Dog for View Askew. Bob Weinstein met with Lynch, was very pleased with his take on the material and hired him as a writer. As thanks for suggesting Lynch, Smith was offered exec. producer credits. The co-writer credit is greatly exaggerated says Smith as he’ll really only be reading the submitted draft and adding a few jokes or polishing here or there"
