Universal hires it's "Jurassic Park 4" scribe

According to Variety, Universal Pictures is moving forward with a fourth installment of Jurassic Park to be penned by William Monahan. Kathleen Kennedy will again produce. The film will of course again see hapless humans pitted against dinosaurs created from ancient strands of DNA. The first three films have taken a $1.9 billion bit out of the worldwide box office since 1993. Monahan most recently wrote Tripoli, an epic drama set in the 18th century and based on the true story of a U.S. diplomat who joined forces with an exiled king to overthrow the corrupt ruler of a North African nation. Ridley Scott will direct that pic, as well as another historical drama that Monahan is writing about the 11th century Crusades.
