Scooper ‘Sophie’ uncovered the truth behind the whole "I Robot" not filming in Australia debacle. Says the scooper, "I Robot went to Vancouver because Will Smith said no to Australia – as simple as that. Fox is screaming because the budget was too high anyway but Will could not be swayed. Too far from home. They didn’t mind it here while Jada was filming Matrix but a source on that film said every minute they had off they spent at Chatswood Chase shopping centre! They obviously were not overwhelmed by Sydney!". She continues, "Alex Proyas really wanted to shoot in Sydney & the production had holds on warehouses around Sydney as no studios were available. All the VFX will still be done in Australia so that is why they still have an office in Fox Studios."
