Progress on Redford's "Candidate" sequel

It’s full speed ahead for the sequel to "The Candidate" reports Marilyn Beck and Stacy Jenel Smith. Writer Larry Gelbart has completed the first draft of the script on the story that will reintroduce audiences to Robert Redford’s character 30 years after he became a U.S senator. "If things go as planned, which things seldom do, the film could be in production by fall," Gelbart says. Redford will direct the sequel.
