Two highly anticipated comic to film adaptations, “Catwoman” and “Constantine”, are essentially stikll shrouded with secrecy. We know whose starring, we know whose directing, and we know who’s writing, but what of the storyline of both?

According to a report on the FilmForce website, Showfax [an actor’s resource page] has posted 6 pages of the latest draft of “Catwoman”.

“The pages posted at Showfax include two scenes to be used by actors auditioning for the male lead of Nick, a cop who falls for Catwoman’s alter ego, Patience Price (Halle Berry). Nick, as these pages point out, had been named "Tom Lone" in prior drafts of the screenplay. Owen Wilson was a rumored contender for that role”, says the site.

“In this June 16th draft, Patience Price works at Avenal Beauty (in what capacity we don’t know). She volunteers every Tuesday at a community center. Nick reveals to the shy, awkward Patience that he’s only at the center because of some trouble he got into at the police department. Nick fell for someone he was supposed to be arresting and now he’s been busted down to a desk detail. We also learn that Patience has a fear of water (blame it on her inner feline?).

“In the second scene (pages 46-48), we learn about an earlier scene (Plot Point One?) that we can assume was Catwoman’s first public appearance/"attack." There is a brief examination room scene where it’s revealed that whatever caused Patience’s transformation into Catwoman (perhaps a Batman Returns-style rebirth?) has also endowed her with amazing reflexes and acutely sensitive eyesight (but no real health problems).

“In the following scene, Patience is at the police station where she is approached by Nick. We learn about an attack at Avenal Beauty (Patience’s employer) the previous night. An "intruder" (thought to have been male by everyone save Nick so it must have been Catwoman) broke into Avenal and "freed a bunch of animals" (used for lab testing?). A scientist working there was also shot and killed.”

The site also has details on “Constantine”, which is set to star Keanu Reeves.

Says the site, “It appears that Angela, like her deceased sister Isabel, had a "gift" for seeing things of a supernatural origin. After Angela saw the extreme measures taken against her sister (she was committed), she denied her gift and eventually lost her ability altogether.

“The two other roles these Showfax pages are to be used in auditions for include Chaz, Constantine’s young cabbie "apprentice" (spelled "Chas" in the comics), and Beeman, described as sort of the "Q" to Constantine’s James Bond. Beeman supplies Constantine with information and Occult artifacts.

“..Beeman reads to John and Angela from an ancient scroll, which explains what supernatural peril they must save the world from. It seems that the devil is planning on sending his son, Mammon, to earth. Usually, demons can’t "cross over" but since Mammon was conceived in heaven (before Lucifer was cast out) but born in hell, he’s found a loophole! (Frankly,
this makes the boundaries between this world and the next seem as porous as the border between the U.S. and Canada.) Obviously, it’s up to John, Angela and Chaz to make sure this doesn’t happen.”
