  • Official Toronto shooting dates for "Resident Evil : Apocalypse" are now confirmed for Aug 6 /03 – Oct 10/03, says Command Entertainment.

  • According to filmjerk , the film adaptation of “A Series of Unfortunate Events” [The Lemony Snicket movie] will begin filming in mid-November in Los Angeles and Boston. The site also has details on a new lead character the production is looking to cast.

  • According to a report on Zap2it, Bruce Wayne [pre-Batman] will drop into “Smallville” for the show’s next, the third, season.

  • Paramount Pictures has tapped Mark S. Waters to direct the teen comedy “Mean Girls”, says Variety. The story centers on an adolescent girl who has been on safari with her zoologist parents but must navigate new terrain when she moves to an Illinois public school and falls in love with the ex-boyfriend of one of the most popular girls. Things turn ugly when she’s reduced to using the same mean-spirited methods as the other girls.

  • Superhero Hype have designs and exclusive artwork up for the scrapped “Batman : Year One” project.

  • Kelly Osbourne is set to make her feature film debut in “Malice in Sunderland”, a contemporary reworking of “Alice in Wonderland”.

  • Aint it Cool news says that despite casting Kenny Baker in the role, R2D2 will be completely computer generated this time in “Episode 3”.

  • Salma Hayek is in final negotiations to star opposite Pierce Brosnan in the caper drama "After the Sunset" for New Line Cinema. John Stockwell is directing the project, which begins where most heist movies end — with a master thief (Brosnan) sailing off to an island paradise after his last big score. However, when his lifelong nemesis, an FBI agent, shows up to make sure the thief is really retired, a new cat-and-mouse game of friendship, suspicion and thievery begins.
