There’s life after the Caesar cut it seems, with “Dawson’s Creek” star, Joshua Jackson, still seemingly able to grab some ok-sounding movie parts. Jackson – who played Pacey in the now non-operational series – has won a plum role in writer/director Kevin Noland’s Indy feature “Americano”, which Dennis Hopper and Leonor Varela co-starring.
According to the trades, the film will be set against the backdrop of the famous “Running of the Bulls” at Pamplona – with footage being shot over the event to slot into the flick.
Our film centers around Chris McKinley (Jackson), a recent college graduate backpacking through Europe who savors his last three days of freedom before boarding the career fast track back in the United States. In Pamplona with two friends (Sharp and Ruthanna Hopper), Chris meets an Australian thrill-seeker (Barantini), a quintessential Spanish beauty (Varela) and an enigmatic provocateur (Dennis Hopper), all of whom encourage him to rethink his life. As the minutes and seconds until his departure tick away, Chris struggles with an age-old question: Should he follow the beaten path or risk it all on the road less traveled?
Sounds like it could be a bit more bearable than Josh’s last flick, the terminally dull “Lone Star State of Mind”.
