Congratulations to the folks, who’ve picked themselves up the “Irreversible” and Anna Kournikova” packs from Lions Gate, and also the “Half Past Dead” DVD’s that were up for grabs, through Columbia. I believe they went quicker than a kitten to wool. As per usual, more giveaways added usually every week.

  • Superhero Hype has posted a new “Spider-Man 2” poster, featuring Spidey himself, that was spotted at the SIGGRAPH conference in San Diego this week.

  • American Gothic has got the greenlight. No, not that one, but a film based on a novel about brothers Edwin and John Wilkes Booth. Todd Field Directs.

  • Jared Leto [“My So Called Life”] has joined the cast of Oliver Stone’s “Alexander”, says Variety. Leto will play Hephaistion, Alexander’s top general and his lifelong companion.

  • Jennifer Coolidge and Regina King, both fresh from “Legally Blonde 2”, have won parts in “A Cinderella Story”, Hilary Duff’s next outing.

  • David Alan Basche and Patrick Warburton have been cast in the indie feature “First Time Caller” for director Paul Sullivan, about a radio announcer who receives a telephone call from an Alien.

  • According to a report on Aint it Cool, Owen Wilson is up for the role of Murdock and Brendan Fraser is up for the part of Face in the forthcoming “A-Team” Movie.

  • Bloody Disgusting has “[the] best images of Leatherface and the Creeper Yet” over on their portal. Check em out here. Additionally, the site’s got some major spoilers from “Freddy vs. Jason” up too.

  • FilmJerk have details on Spike Lee’s next film, which the site says seems to be an ensemble piece which takes place in and around a company called at Hygia Pharmaceuticals.

  • IGN FilmForce has your first look at the poster for the Project Greenlight movie “The Battle of Shaker Heights” here and the poster for Woody Allen’s “Anything Else” here.

  • UIP have confirmed an Easter 2005 for the heavily awaited and unenviably exciting “Spongebob Squarepants : The Movie”.

  • New York Times reported that Mikhail Baryshnikov has joined HBO’s Sex and the City to play Sarah Jessica Parker’s new romantic interest, says the IMDB. He’ll be in the show’s final 8 episodes.

  • Djimon Hounsou told The Chicago Sun Times what he thinks “Gladiator 2” will be about. “The only survivors left from the first film are myself, Connie Nielsen and the kid. I would assume that the sequel will center around the kid”. Hounsou has signed for the film.

  • Fangoria have posted a couple of new snaps from “Starship Troopers 2” that we don’t have, you can check them out here.

  • The Herald Sun reports that Delta Goodrem will be written out of “Neighbours” – with her last scenes to air in October – so the lass can deal with Hodgkins disease. There’s a plan for Delta to return to the series next year. That’s only a possibility at this stage.

  • According to Variety, Emile Hirsch will star opposite Sigourney Weaver in “Imaginary Heroes”, a drama written and to be directed by Dan Harris. The coming-of-age tale concerns a young man who must deal with the death of his older brother.

  • William H.Macy has won a part in the new Kim Basinger starrer, “Cellular”, says The Hollywood Reporter. Macy would play a cop in the film, which revolves around a kidnapped woman who places a random phone call and reaches a young man (played by Chris Evans) she must persuade to help her.

  • Susan Sarandon and Marisa Tomei have been added to the cast of “Alfie”, a remake of the ol’ Michael Caine film, starring Jude Law in the titular role.

  • Ed Harris, Helen Hunt and Philip Seymour Hoffman will star in HBO’s “Empire Falls”, based on the Richard Russo novel.
