Lack of inspiration leads to Douglas back catalogue

Another darn remake?! Where’s the original ideas fellas! According to Variety, “X Files” vet Frank Spotnitz has inked a deal to Direct and executive produce a remake of Michael Douglas flick “The Star Chamber”. The original starred Douglas as a disillusioned judge who joins a secret tribunal of peers who bestow death sentences to miscreants whose cases were dismissed on technicalities. You’d think after the last couple of years Hollywood would have triggered onto the fact that remakes are’nt exactly money-spinners. Ok, so "Oceans Eleven" and "The Ring" might be exceptions, but what about "The Italian Job", "The Truth About Charlie", and "Solaris", and is anyone else a little afraid of the forthcoming Johnny Depp headed "Willie Wonka" remake? Just the thought of Depp stepping into the shoes of the unreplaceable Gene Wilder is enough to make even the slighest fan of the original shudder.
