The movie hasn’t exactly set the box office on fire, but that’s never stopped any other passable hits from spawning sequels, prequels or TV spin-off’s has it? Next cab off the rank to get the offshoot action is “S.W.A.T”, the recent Samuel L.Jackson/Colin Farrell starrer. Now, granted, the movie was in fact based on a TV show initially, so the tube’s familiar territory for the template. According to Variety, the film’s producers Neil Moritz and Marty Adelstei have met with network officials to get the new series on the air for Fall 2004. Screenwriters Michael Colleary and Mike Werb have already been asked to write the pilot. Word is the series will more closely resemble the recent film than the 70’s series.
