Just speaking to the lovely Laura Harring – you’ll remember her from the fantastic “Mulholland Drive” – whose gearing up for a role in the film adaptation of Marvel’s “The Punisher”. Although the film’s well underway, Harring hasn’t started filming her scenes yet – in which she’ll play iniquitous John Travolta’s better half – but is currently gearing up for it. “Lost 5 pounds for the Punisher and trying to lose few more”, she tells. Why on earth she would have to lose weight is beyond me, have you seen the gal?

  • Richard Martini’s forthcoming ‘Amelia Earhart’ bio “Amelia and George” is has apparently just done a second draft of the film’s script, with filming tipped to start in approximately 6 months.

  • The Yancy Butler starring series “Witchblade” is finally starting Down Under. It’ll premiere Wednesday 17th July [the week after the telemovie pilot airs] on Channel 9, at 1:30 am. Yeah, not exactly prime time.

  • Sarah Dessen, author of “How to Deal”, which was recently turned into a film starring Mandy Moore, tells Moviehole her book, “This Lullaby” has been picked up by New Line to be given the film treatment too.

  • DVD Answers have a look at the new “Terminator 3 : Rise of the Machines” artwork that is being used for the forthcoming DVD. Thanks to Dark Horizons

  • Dark Horizons reports that Rob Zombie might be directing “NightProwlers”, “sort of like ‘The Warriors’, where there were a bunch of gangs made up of ‘knucklheads’ who screw up everything they attempt and each one was very strange and had some kind of theme to them”. Zakk Wylde (guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne) has a role.

  • Van Damme’s latest blunder “Hell”, or “SHU” or whatever the heck it’s called will be released under the title “In Hell”, this November on DVD/VHS from Columbia in Australia.

  • Hollywood Dreams has the teaser poster up for the upcoming Tom Hanks starrer “The Polar Express”. Click the aforesaid link to view. Thanks to Coming Soon.

  • According to a href="">The Arnold Fans, Nick Stahl is committed to starring in a “Terminator 4”, with or without Arnold, which apparently is looking more and more likely.

  • Emily Watson, Tom Wilkinson and Rupert Everett will star in “A Way Through The Woods”, about a couple’s (Wilkinson and Watson) seemingly idyllic marriage which is complicated by the introduction of a disruptive third party (Everett).

  • China has banned the release of “Lara Croft – Tomb Raider : The Cradle of Life”, saying it gives the impression of a country in chaos, with no government and over-run by secret societies. China, you rule.

  • The trailer for “Gothika”, which screened at the Video Music Awards last week, is now available online. Check it out here

  • Star – via Superhero Hype – reports that the mystery superhero movie Jessica Simpson could be starring in, is “The Fantastic Four”.

  • Aint it Cool heard from a scooper whose suggesting that the proposed sequel to “Independence Day” and two follow-ups to “Stargate” are both dead in the water.

  • According to Aint it Cool, the “Son of the Mask” won’t be shooting in Queensland, but Fox Studios in Sydney.

  • The official Star Wars site says production on Episode 3 is nearly done with Hayden Christensen’s scenes as Darth Vader likely to happen this week.

  • Bloody Disgusting says the IMDB have updated their “Halloween 9” page saying Sean Cunningham is directing. I can almost guarantee this is bulldust.

  • The Age reports that the two-disc “Finding Nemo” DVD is already completed and will be in stores by Christmas.

  • Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint will all be back for “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire”, reports Sci Fi Wire.

  • Entertainment Weekly reports that the “Elektra” spin-off – which may include the characters, Nick Fury and criminal cabal the Hand – is set to film next Spring. Thanks to Superhero Hype
