Ron Howard [“The Missing] is attached to write and direct a film based on the life of reporter and news analyst Eric Sevareid. According to Variety, Stephen Falick and Jeff Howard pitched the project and will write the screenplay, which will follow the dramatic and comedic elements of Sevareid’s life after he was recruited by legendary CBS newsman Edward R. Murrow to cover World War II. The film will concentrate on the events of 1943, when Sevareid was assigned to the Far East and was forced to parachute from a plane in China. Brian Grazer, Howard’s partner at Imagine, will produce the film. As yet, Russell Crowe is no attached. Thankfully.
