'Police' gets Jackie Chan

Is someone a little disheartened with the Hollywood studio system? According to Monkey Peaches, “The Medallion” headliner Jackie Chan is getting back to his roots. The action-master is filming the fifth “Police Story” film this month, “New Police Story”, it’s called. Talking to Nanfang Daily, Director Benny Chang said it’s a pretty simple story – like the other instalments – of good and bad. Nicholas Tse has been cast as a cop and Charlene Choi will play his girlfriend. The bad guys will be portrayed by Daniel Wu, Wang Chieh, Terence Yin and Andy On. Chang says – and this should please Chan, who’s been whinging about it of late – that the film will have little to no CGI effects, and be largely an hour and a half of hand to hand physical fights.
