I hear Craven’s “Cursed” finally starts shooting next week, after its elongated lull. Richard Hoover and Sony Imageworks have done an amazing job with the digital werewolf. According to an insider, the film’s going to be really good now, so much more so than it would’ve been earlier this year. They’ve also cast a new male lead, which will probably be announced shortly. Having said that, word is Craven’s done with “Cursed” after this one – no trilogy. Anyone else think he might be done with horror altogether? Meantime, here’s what else is happening in la la land…

  • According to, Bollywood actress, Aishwarya-Rai is set to play Indian screen legend ‘Nagris’, in “Shooting Stars”, the CGI-Jude Law film.

  • IGN Filmforce have an update on the “G.I Joe” movie. The story will not be of the 300 Spartans but rather a feature film adaptation of Frank Miller’s comic book 300
    which also depicts the battle of Thermopylae

  • USA Today is reporting that the 007 spin-off “Jinx” is still in development despite recent reports that it’s been shelved. Thanks to Dark Horizons

  • Aint it Cool reports that both Charisma Carpenter [Cordy] and Christian Kane [Lindsay] return to “Angel” this season.

  • The L.A. Times – via Coming Soon – reports that “Walt Disney Studios halted production Friday of its long-troubled animated project A Few Good Ghosts (aka "My Peoples"), raising questions about the fate of the company’s Orlando, Florida, animation facility and its staff of some 258 artists who were working on the project”

  • Coming Soon has a first look at Angelina Jolie as Alexander the Great’s mother here

  • Ally Sheedy and Polly Draper have joined the cast of the Intrinsic Value and Velveteen Films’ co-production "Shooting Livien." The indie feature — also starring Jason Behr, Sarah Wynter and Dominic Monaghan — follows a disillusioned New York rocker in an identity crisis while on the brink of success.

  • According to Smallville Fans, John Schneider has spoken out about the rumoured casting of Britney Spears in the “Dukes of Hazzard” movie. Instead, he’s suggesting Jennifer Lopez for the role of Daisy.

  • Frances Conroy, Sam Bottoms and Rebecca Pidgeon have joined the cast of Touchstone Pictures and Hyde Park Entertainment’s “Shopgirl”, an adaptation of Steve Martin’s novella for helmer Anand Tucker.
