Comic movie finally spawning sequel

A sequel to the comic turned film “Spawn” [1994] has been in the works for years. It just seems to be undyingly stuck in development hell. Now, according to SneakPeak.CA, there might be some movement on it. “On the strength of Namco Hometek’s new vid-game release "Spawn: Armageddon", Todd McFarlane has apparently indicated a new "Spawn" theatrical feature will be produced towards the end of 2004”. In 2000, creator Todd McFarlane announced that he wanted to do an R sequel to the PG original, at the same time New Line asked him to cut about $6 million from the budget. He ended up changing studios, to Columbia. Hopefully this new news doesn’t kick off another five years of speculation…
