I read the most amusing thing today. Over on Monkey Peaches, where they’ve got a lot of set-pics and on-set reports about Jackie Chan’s new film “New Police Story” [yep, returning to his roots], they mention that Jackie has announced plans for a theme park in Hong Kong called “Jackieland”. Excuse me, Jackieland? What kind of rides could one expect there? A ‘Rumble in the Bronx’ [with take-home bandage], a stunt show where you’re the prop? Maybe flopville? Where you’re magically inserted into one of Jackie’s big hollywood flops? And maybe a gift shop where you can buy broken noses to look like Owen Wilson? Arnieland, Bruceland and Paulyland can only be months away…

  • The Guardian says the cartoon panther will appear on screen in the new “Pink Panther” movie moving freely with the flesh-and-blood characters.

  • Academy Award winner Lindy Hemming [“Tomb Raider”] is the costume designer for “Batman Intimidation Game”, reports Latino Review

  • According to Superhero Hype, Avi Arad has hired a writer to pen “The Hulk” sequel and there’s also a possibility a “Hulk” TV series will happen [another one]

  • Oscar-nominated composer, conductor and arranger Michael Kamen [“Die Hard”, “Robin Hood : Prince of Thieves”], one of Hollywood’s most sought-after musicians, died at age 55 Tuesday after suffering from multiple sclerosis for several years.

  • Dimension Films is in talks to pick up a pitch from scribe Simon Kinberg based on “The Lost Years of Merlin”, a popular series of books by T.A. Barron

  • Babaloo Mandel and Lowell Ganz will rewrite the comedy “The last First Kiss”, a film to star Will Smith

  • Alexi Hawley has been tapped to do a rewrite on “Exorcist: The Beginning” for Morgan Creek. This just keeps getting better and better. Huh!

  • Anthony Anderson will star in “King’s Ransom”, about a rich, cocky and generally despised businessman who realizes he might lose half his wealth to the obnoxious wife he’s trying to divorce. He decides to arrange his own kidnapping in order to wipe himself out and claim poverty, but he discovers that several other parties have plans to kidnap and ransom him as well.

  • Superhero Hype says a “Daredevil : Directors Cut” DVD should be available in April of next year.
