An interesting revelation over at Aint it Cool. Seems the IMDB is now listing Richard Donner as the director of “Superman”. If it’s true, it’s great news, because Donner – having directed the original “Superman” movie – knows how to steer this baby into victory, but alas, it’s the first one’s heard of it. It wouldn’t surprise me if Donner has been offered the chance to direct the film – everyone else has been offered – but frankly, don’t see him wanting to recreate what is probably an unworkable undertaking. McG is the current name attached to the project, and has been off and on for the last couple of years. Given the poor performance of “Charlies Angels : Full Throttle” at the box office, I can’t see him wanting to turn down a potentially new money-spinning venture like “Superman”. In other words, take the Donner thing with a grain of salt. Or if you must believe it, at least leave those fingers crossed behind your back – I will.
