There’s a heap going on at Moviehole at the moment, including a new look for the New Year. I best get back onto that, and let you read today’s who’s, where’s, why’s, how’s and with what type of utensil.

  • Dark Horizons reports that M. Night Shyamalan is being linked to a film version of Yann Martel’s "Life of Pi".

  • Dark Horizons has word on what the opening sequence in “Sahara” could be

  • Bloody Disgusitng heard from both Sid Haig and Bill Moseley who said despite a script now being complete there’s no movement on “House of 1000 Corpses 2”

  • The official site for Mel Gibson’s controversial new movie “The Passion of Christ” has opened here

  • Andy from E Online tells me over the weekend that Skeet Ulrich won’t be making the cut of “Cursed” either. Ouch.

  • SneakPeek.CA says USA Network have cast Oscar winning actress Brenda Fricker to play ‘Madame Alex’ in the movie of the week "Going Down : The Rise and Fall of Heidi Fleiss". Corbin Bernsen, Robert Davi and Saul Rubinek are also among the cast. Thanks to ‘Michael’

  • According to IGN Filmforce, the writing team of Joel Cohen & Alec Sokolow [“Toy Story”]
    might be the men replacing William Goldman as the scribes of “Shazam”.

    Uwe Boll told VideoStoreMag.com that there’s still a possibility of a “House of the Dead 2”. Says the trade, “Boll, already has a script for a second film, and enough outtakes and extras for an additional DVD. The director said he is contemplating creating an outlandish director’s cut of the two films that would border on parody, given the nature of the extra shots he filmed.”

  • SneakPeek.CA says US casting director Matt Casella will be holding auditions, Tuesday, December 9, 2003 in the ‘Terraces Room’ of the Sportsman’s Lodge for Columbia Pictures’ "Spanglish". The comedy/drama stars Adam Sandler, Tea Leoni, Anne Bancroft and Paz Vega. Casella will be casting for the role of Sandler and Leoni’s daughter: a 12-15 year old strong comedic actress. The casting call will commence at 3 p.m. on Tuesday and run until 6 p.m. in the Terraces Room. The Sportsman’s Lodge is located at 12825 Ventura Boulevard (at Coldwater Canyon), Studio City, CA, 91604.

  • Father and Son, Master P and Lil’ Romeo will team for the projects "Uncle P," an urban family comedy that Master P had bankrolled himself and recently wrapped production on with Bernard Gourly directing, and the comedy "Shorty," which Beacon is in early negotiations to pick up out of turnaround at Universal Pictures.

  • Scribe Valerie Horwitz has been tapped to adapt "Getting and Spending," the feature film version of a play that Catherine Zeta-Jones is attached to star in for Pathe Entertainment, about insider trading.
