Last month, ContactMusic.com reported that Kevin Costner was penning a sequel to his yankee jazzin’ of "Robin Hood : Prince of Thieves".

According to the site, Costner’s been writing a story that would centre on the Merry Men later on in their lives.

But has he?

IESB caught up with the Oscar Winner who slammed the rumours.

Q: Are you going to be making a sequel to Robin Hood?

Costner: No! I just squashed that rumor right?

Rather surprised with the answer actually. Costner could use a hit right now, and another "Robin Hood" would probably sell a few tickets. Still, there is a lot of buzz about his supporting role in the forthcoming "Upside of Anger", so maybe he’s holding out for a Tarantino-sized comeback.
