Val Kilmer talks about a sequel
He offered Maverick a night out as his ‘Wing Man’ anytime, but Val Kilmer light-heartedly says Tom Cruise isn’t keen on taking him up on his offer.
Speaking amusingly about a “Top Gun” sequel – Tom Cruise has been offered the chance to reprise his role – Kilmer tells MetroNews.com that he’s keen, but the Cruisester isn’t. “I want to do it and Tom doesn’t,” he exclaims. “I’ve even got a good title — Dog Fight. Isn’t that a good title?”
Paramount have always been keen to do a sequel to “Top Gun” (1986) and offered it to Tom Cruise shortly after the release of the first film. His star was already starting to soar by that time – so he sensibly passed. Rick Rossovich, on the other hand, has his hand high in the air.
