Stephan Elliot’s career goes to the dogs

Having spent the last decade hiding from whomever invested in “Welcome to Woop Woop” (fools), Stephan Elliot, the Australian director who set tills ringing with “The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Dessert” (1994), has announced he’ll be pulling his directors chair out of storage.

Elliot’s comeback film, surprisingly enough, will be a kiddie-friendly pic about a wealthy dog. Elliott, with writing partner Sheirdan Jobbins, sold their script “In the Name of the Dog”, about a pup that inherits $500 million, to Disney, says The Hollywood Reporter.

No word yet, on whether Bill Hunter will be supplying the voice of the dog. (Speaking of which, the trades have announced that Jason Lee will be providing the voice of “Underdog” in the upcoming film of the same name).
