OK, so they’ve been denying for weeks and weeks those incessant rumours that Mischa Barton is leaving “The OC”.
Not too far-fetched. Heck, I’d believe it – she’s apparently been hankering to leave the show since it went to heck, and, well, shopping’s calling. Easy as that. Filming clashes with Sales.
You wanna know what I think? I think they’re lying. I reckon Marisa is getting the heck out of Orange Country… and it looks like an official announcement is only days away.
And it could be on the money.
TV Guide reports today that, “The network also has renewed The War at Home as well as The O.C., which is expected to return for its fourth season minus Mischa Barton. Craft services… this does not affect you.”
Backstage.com is also indicating that Barton is off “The OC” too.
No doubt Barton’s hoping for a film career…she’s got a couple of film roles in the can, including “Guilty Pleasures” with Hayden Christensen, “Closing the Ring” with Neve Campbell, and “Hexxx”, one of those teeny thrillers about co-eds who are knocked off one-by-one on a vacation. She’s also, reportedly, one of the rumoured contenders for the role of “Wonder Woman”….but don’t invest too much into that one, just yet.
