Not for the SG-1 crew anyway

Hot on the heels of Dean Devlin’s Comic Con announcement that two new “Stargate” films are in the works, comes the ironic – though possibly, unconnected – announcement that TV’s “Stargate : SG-1” is about to close up shop.

The SciFi Channel, via SciFi Wire, states that “Having achieved so much over the course of the past 10 years, SCI FI believes that the time is right to make this season their last on the channel. SCI FI is honored to have been part of the Stargate legacy for five years, and we look forward to continuing to explore the Stargate universe with our partners at MGM through a new season of Stargate Atlantis.”

Though the actors from “SG1” aren’t supposed to be involved in those abovesaid “Stargate” films – the characters (well, the central characters) will be. Not that that makes Richard Dean Anderson feel any better.
