There hasn’t been a good western in years (was “Unforgiven” the last good one?), so it’s great to see the genre is making a comeback with “Renegade” – even if its a western with a difference, and not necessarily, uber-entertaining.

Cassel (“Ocean’s Twelve”) plays Marshall Blueberry, a chap that decides to go up against some greedy adventurers, who he has discovered are crossing into Indian Territory in search of buried treasure. Raised by injuns as a teenager, Blueberry is suddenly caught between his lawful duties and his allegiance to his adopted people.

As I said, this is not your typical western. Take “Young Guns” and then combine it with the craziness of “Natural Born Killers”, and you get the picture. Nearly. Is it entertaining? I dunno, depends on how much you’ve smoked before watching it. Whatever the case, it’s definitely watchable anyway.
