“Dallas 362”
Director: Scott Caan
Starring: Selma Blair, Tony Lee Boggs, Scott Caan, Isla Fisher, Jeff Goldblum, Kelly Lynch, Shawn Hatosy

Former Aussie Soap Star Isla Fisher (“Home and Away”) seems to be really going places. She recently won an MTV award for her hilarious turn in “Wedding Crashers”, and now, she’s got a meaty role in actor Scott Caan’s directorial debut. As with the earlier film, she again steals the show.

The film, primarily a small-town drama about friendship (and little more), stars Shawn Hatosy (“The Faculty”) as a youngster who is constantly getting into trouble with the law. When the boy’s mother forces him to see a therapist (Jeff Goldblum), an unfulfilled dream seethes out – seems the kid has always wanted to be a rodeo rider. Will he achieve his goal, or will he return to his ways of waywardness?

Everyone involved in the production – especially Caan, playing Hatosy’s best friend, and the vivacious Fisher! – give excellent performances. Unfortunately, there isn’t much else to reccommend about the movie. For the actors (and new director Caan) its a great showreel, but for the audience, it ain’t all that gripping.
