“Mr.Peabody & Sherman” coming to theatres

“Stuart Little” helmer – and, according to the grapevine, the man being eyed to direct the forthcoming Jackie Chan/Jet Li team-up – Rob Minkoff will direct a feature film version of the animated classic, “Mr. Peabody & Sherman”.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project had been in development at Universal for quite some time, but Dreamworks Animation have got it up and going.

Produced by late animation legend Jay Ward, “Mr. Peabody” features the world’s brainiest dog and his pet boy. The series of short segments premiered in 1959 as part of Ward’s classic “Rocky & Bullwinkle” series and followed the duo as they went back in time, via Mr. Peabody’s WABAC Machine, to a pivotal moment in history.
