“His Dark Materials” cast grows
Australia’s Eric Bana looks set to join fellow countryman Nicole Kidman in “His Dark Materials : The Golden Compass”, according to a report on the Coming Soon website.
Quoting an interview that “Casino Royale” sexpot Eva Green recently gave Studio Mag, the site says that Bana’s one of three new blokes onboard – the other two being Kevin Bacon and screen veteran John Hurt.
Kidman plays Mrs. Coulter in Chris Weitz’s upcoming movie based on the ‘His Dark Materials’ trilogy by Philip Pullman. No word on who Bana is playing yet.
The abovementioned trilogy is comprised of “The Golden Compass,” “The Subtle Knife” and “The Amber Spyglass”. It revolves around a young girl who travels to the far north to save her best friend. Along the way, she encounters shape-shifting creatures, witches, and a variety of otherworldly characters in parallel universes.”
(Bit of a “Bond” connection with the film – Eva Green and Daniel Craig are reuniting for this one)
