Paul at Comic Con – Part 2

Last night a packed audience saw the hilarious Judd Apatow-produced Superbad, introduced by the venerable producer who received a standing ovation, as did the film. The consistently hilarious Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg scripted comedy about three high school seniors who figure that being bad is the key to getting laid, contains knockout performances by Jonah Hill, Michael Cera, and the quite spectacularly funny Christopher Mintz-Plasse. If audience reaction is anything to go by, this may the year’s funniest movie.

At a special breakfast this morning, Fox Atomic, the studio unveiled its nee trailer for the revenge thriller and some exclusive new footage. Introduced by director James Wan [of Saw fame], this Death Wish-style thriller casts Kevin Bacon as an ordinary family guy who seeks revenge following a family tragedy. A psychological thriller, the first clip showed the set up and circumstances that lead to the main plot of the film, set in a gas station. Other clips reveal much gunfire, a shoot out and a clip called ‘From Bathroom to Banister. The film looks visually dazzling and kinetic and could the Australian Saw director into a major A-list director. The film opens August 31.

Talking about their latest comedy Balls Of Fury, the creators of Reno 911 Thomas Lennon and Ben Garant, confirmed exclusively that they have just started writing Fox’s Night at the Museum 2. Without disclosing plot details, they did confirm “there’ll be existing characters and plenty of new ones.” Already signed from the original, that grossed over $500m, are Ben Stiller and Robin Williams.
