An online blab with about the new Adam Green movie

I managed to have a bit of a back-and-forward email chat with Patrika Darbo today, about her role in Adam Green’s upcoming “Hatchet”. Here’s the complete transcript – she loves her some CAPITALS – of said super highway conversation for your enjoyment…

First of all, I m still disturbed by your scenes in ‘’In the Line of Fire’’. Was that tough to shoot?
JOHN WAS VERY CONCERNED THAT WE ALL WORKED TO MAKE SURE THAT NO ONE GOT HURT DURING THE FILMING.
IT WAS VERY SCARY GRABING MY NECK AND TURNING IT TO LOOK LIKE HE WAS BREAKING IT, SO HE MADE SURE WE TURNED OUR HEADS AT THE SAME TIME ON THE SAME COUNT.

You’ve done two films with Clint Eastwood now the other being ‘Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil’’… How is he to work with?
CLINT LIKED THE SCENE IN THE BANK BETWEEN JOHN AND ME, SO HE HIRED ME TO BE IN “GARDEN”. HE WAS VERY NICE TO WORK WITH. I HAD NO SCENES WITH HIM IN “LINE” AND I WAS JUST DIRECTED BY HIM IN “GARDEN”.

You’ve floated between film and TV – which do you prefer?
IT WOULD BE VERY HARD TO CHOOSE. I LOVE TO WORK AND THERE IS ALSO THE STAGE WHICH I LOVE TOO. ONE OF MY MOST FAVORITE PROJECTS WAS DADDY’S DYIN’, WHO’S GOT THE WILL? I DID THE PLAY FOR 2 YEARS AND THEN GOT TO REPRISE MY ROLE IN THE MOVIE. IT WAS WONDERFUL AND SOMETHING I WILL NEVER FORGET.

Are you recognized for any particular role in particular?
I AM RECOGNIZED FOR NANCY WESLEY ON DAYS OF OUR LIVES, AUNT PENNY ON STEP BY STEP, THE BANK-TELLER IN IN THE LINE OF FIRE.

How did you get involved in “Hatchet”?
I WENT TO AN AUDITION

Um OK…. But can you tell us a bit about your character?
SHE IS A NICE LADY ON VACATION WITH HER HUSBAND. THEY TAKE A TOUR WITH SOME OTHER NICE PEOPLE THAT JUST DOESN’T TURN OUT AS EXPECTED.

Do you generally like horror movies?
NO, I HAVE MY EYES COVERED IF I GO AT ALL. USUALLY I SEE THEM AT HOME WHERE I CAN CHANGE THE STATION OR FAST FORWARD. THEY SCARE ME TOO MUCH.

Did you get to meet Kane ‘Jason’ Hodder and Tony ‘Candyman’ Todd?
I GOT TO MEET KANE. WE HUNG OUT. NOT IN COSTUME. WAY TOO CREEPY. I DIDN’T WORK WHEN TONY DID. WE DIDN’T GET TO MEET.

Adam Green has poured his heart and soul into the movie, I hear, how did he do as a director?
ADAM HIRED ME. HE WROTE THE SCRIPT. IT WAS HIS BABY. HE NEW JUST WHAT HE WANTED. BECAUSE HE WROTE IT, HE COULD TELL US EXACTLY WHAT HE WANTED AND HOW HE WANTED US TO DO IT. HE TOLD THE LIGHTING GUYS AND THE CAMERA GUYS EXACTLY WHAT HE WANTED. HIS VISION CAME TO FRUITION WHERE AND WHEN POSSIBLE. HE WAS A SWEETHEART AND DESPITE THE COLD AND NASTY WEATHER WE ALL TRIED TO GIVE HIM WHAT HE WANTED. I THINK HE HAS A VERY BRIGHT FUTURE ALONG WITH ALL THE OTHER TALENTED ACTORS AND

CREATIVE PEOPLE I WORKED WITH. IT’S NOT EVERYONE THAT CAN HAVE YOU LAUGHING ONE MINUTE AND SCREAMING THE NEXT. I HOPE TO WORK WITH HIM AGAIN.

What’s next for you?
BESIDES HATCHET, I HAVE MOVING MCALLISTER AND CHARLIE WILSONS WAR COMING OUT THIS YEAR.. I’VE BEEN AUDITIONING AND DOING TV. SOME COMMERCIALS AND WORKING ON WRITING. LIKE ALL ACTORS JUST TRYING TO KEEP BUSY WAITING FOR THE NEXT JOB TO COME ALONG.

HATCHET is now showing
