With today’s announcement that Tom Cruise has jumped ship (negotiations broke down with Cruise very late in the piece we’re told) from Warner’s “28th Amendment” and will instead star in the espionage thriller “Edwin A. Salt” (which “Amendment” director Phil Noyce is now helming,too), we thought we’d check in with our source on the former and see whether that film is still happening – now that Cruise has exited.

And indeed it is. Warner have put out an offer to Christian Bale to take Cruise’s place in the film. They are still pursuing Denzel Washington to play a special services operative, who attempts to assassinate the President.

The film is likely to shoot next year – largely due to the looming strike.
