The idea that won’t die : Sixteen Candles 2

Molly Ringwald is begging – what!? She’s know where he is?! Hasn’t he been underground for the last ten years? – John Hughes to make that long-rumoured sequel to “Sixteen Candles” (and of course, why wouldn’t Molly Rinwald, mostly unemployed these days, be begging the man that gave her her first big hit to cast her in a sequel?).

Ringwald said a sequel had been presented to her a while ago – probably that rumoured telemovie, “32 Candles” – but because Hughes wasn’t interested, neither was she.

“It was something that I definitely wanted to do, but John Hughes wasn’t interested, and I didn’t feel comfortable doing it without his involvement. If we can get John to agree, I think it would be great. I think there are definitely a lot of people who would love to see it, and I would love to do it”, Ringwald tells AOL. “I think that “Sixteen Candles” lends itself to (a sequel). It was such a Cinderella story. And I was interested to see what happened to this girl.”

More people are probably interested to know what happened to Molly’s love interest in the film – Michael Schoeffling!? Where did that guy disappear to? Is he living underground with Hughes – possibly playing slave to his desires?
