Diesel cancels promo tour for movie

According to a press release sent out by the studio, Vin Diesel has pulled out of the Australian leg of the “Fast & Furious” promo tour due to a scheduling spar with his latest project.

Diesel was expected to arrive in the country next week, alongside co-star Paul Walker, to spruik out the petrolhead tentpoler. Walker will still attend.

The actor, who reprises his role as Dominic Torreto in the Justin Lin-directed actioner, has had to fly to Vancouver for his latest film role.

Diesel was expected to film a cameo as in director Chris Weitz’s “The Twilight Saga’s New Moon” in June, but “the filming dates have been bought forward” according to studio representative, Jackie DiNorscio. “Though Mr Diesel is only required on set for three days, the filming dates directly clash with the Melbourne Premiere and Junket. Unfortunately he can no longer attend”.

As previously reported back in January, Diesel will appear as the ancient Italian vampire, Lestat, father of Caius, in the “Twilight” sequel. The actor agreed to do the part for filmmaker friend Weitz, who he’s working with on the upcoming “Hannibal the Conqueror”.
