Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment tells us they’ve raised over $100,000 (!) since 2007 for Cancer Council to help fund breast cancer research, support services and prevention through a range of great movies on DVD. Quite a proud accomplishment!
A local initiative “ the pink range†has seen high profile movies re-packaged on DVD and sold to consumers during October with 50c per unit being donated to the cause. Money raised has assisted with projects such as the production of information booklets for cancer patients, training and resources for support groups, transport for cancer patients to and from treatment and funding towards clinical trials.
Commenting on the cause related marketing initiative Chris Dunn Managing Director of TCFHE stated “We are extremely proud that through our business we can support such an amazing cause, consumers love movies and collecting their favourites on DVD and by doing this they too are a part of helping othersâ€.
New to the pink range of DVD’s for this years celebration is the Baz Luhrmann’s masterpiece “Romeo & Juliet†starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes and the smash hit comedy “27 Dresses†starring Gray’s Anatamony’s Katherine Heigl. Available for purchase at $15.00 from all leading retailers these movies plus many more will hit shelves on September 30th.
