”Twilight” fave Billy Burke has joined the cast of director Patrick Lussier’s ”Drive Angry”, Moviehole can reveal.
The picture, written by Todd Farmer, fixes on a rage-filled father (Nicolas Cage) hell-bent on revenge against those that killed his daughter, and kidnapped his granddaughter. The vendetta/rescue spins out of control as the chase gets bloodier by the mile, leaving bodies strewn along the highway
Shooting in a month’s time in Louisiana, ”Drive Angry” will be Lussier’s second ‘3D’ film following last year’s successful ”My Bloody Valentine”. The filmmaker is also attached to a third 3D film, the zombie-epic ”Condition Dead”, and last year was being courted to helm a third installment in The Weinstein’s newly rebooted ”Halloween” series (Which I don’t believe is going ahead now, not with Lussier anyway – pity, he might’ve been about to rescue that flippin’ decaying series).
Burke’s other credits – aside from the “Twilight” films – include “Untraceable” with Diane Lane, “Feast of Love”, “Ladder 49” and “Jane Austen’s Mafia”.
