Tim Burton directing Thing!

Having now squeezed the fun sponge dry on Lewis Carroll’s exceedingly disappointing “Alice in Wonderland”, Tim Burton has turned his attention to grubbing up Charles Adams’ “The Addams Family”.

According to Deadline Hollywood Daily, old crazy hair will direct a 3D stop-motion animated film featuring the beloved characters of print, TV and film – not that you’ll likely recognize them. You see Burton’s film won’t take it’s cue from the original TV series or the Raul Julia-starring films but instead will be solely based on the original “Addams Family” designs once published in New Yorker Magazine.

Universal, who’ll shepherd the project, have yet to hire a writer.
