It’s been a big year for “Twilight” starlet Ashley Greene.
First the pretty young, who wanted more green to reprise her role as Alice Cullen in the “Breaking Dawn” films, scores a delicious pay rise from Summit, and in recent days she’s been touted (but so have a dozen or so other beauties, I suppose) for the female lead in Paramount’s “Transformers 3″.
Now, according to Heat Vision, Greene is up for one of the leads in Wes Craven’s “Scream 4″.
If the actress agrees to whatever fee the Weinstein’s are willing to pay her, she’d play Sidney Prescott’s cousin Jill, essentially the heroine of the movie.
Greene will have to decide whether she wants to do the film based on the character breakdown alone, as the studio isn’t sending out the script to anyone – and that includes the film’s prospective stars.
But Greene’s not the only young thing being courted for the Kevin Williamson-penned sequel – former “Heroes” star Hayden Panettiere has been asked to play Jill’s friend, a nerdy film geek, Kieran Culkin (“Igby Goes Down”) has been asked to play a potential love interest for Jill, and Lake Bell, seen recently in the Streep/Baldwin/Martin comedy “It’s Complicated”, has been offered the role of a Cop, who went to school with Sidney.
Whilst the storyline, as I said, is under wraps I think we can all assume who “gets it” in the pre-credits sequence.
David Arquette and Courtney Cox will reprise their roles as Gale and Dewey, respectively, with Neve Campbell ‘arm-twisted’ into reprising her role as the original trilogy’s heroine, Sidney.
Filming on the pic, believed to be the first in a new “Scream” trilogy, begins in Michigan in July.
