Olivia Thirlby (“Juno”) will star opposite recently-appointed lawman Karl Urban in the new “Judge Dredd” flick, reports Variety.

Thirlby,who made her film debut in 2006′s “United 93″, will play rookie Cassandra Anderson in the Pete Travis-directed adaptation of the 2000AD Comic Book series.

Unlike the 1995 flick of the same name, the new “Dredd” will stick closer to the source material – for starters, the lead won’t take off his helmet.

The script, written by Alex Garland (“The Beach”), sees Dredd (Urban) and Anderson investigating a series of murders in a high-rise slum. A drug lord, knowing the cops are inside, decides to lock down the building – making it impossible for them to escape.
