New series, film for Jennifer Love Hewitt

New series, film for Jennifer Love Hewitt

Jennifer Love Hewitt. Very sweet girl. One of the first interviews I ever did was with her actually. It was for “I Know What You Did Last Summer” – a film that also starred Muse Watson, my producing partner and good friend, as the raincoat-cloaked killer fisherman, Ben Willis. Funny how things work out. But I digress, I really like ‘Love’. She’s a sweetie. Kept in touch. Even collaborated. Hasn’t changed a bit – despite her success.

You’ll have heard that her series “Ghost Whisperer” is dead, right? Well, unlike her hubby on the show, our starlet isn’t able to resurrect it. Weird, I know. So Jen’s moving on.

Hewitt is circling both a TV series and a promising new film.

FOX is apparently in talks with Love to star in a sitcom that’s described as a chick version of ratings hit “Big Bang Theory”. Walt Becker (“Old Dogs”) and Tiffany Paulsen (“Nancy Drew”) are penning the pilot.

Apparently the actress also recently guested on the upcoming series “Love Bites”, which premieres on NBC later in the year. Deadline hears that both the show, and Love’s appearance, was well received at the recent upfronts.

This FOX series would be, what, the fourth TV show that Love Hewitt has starred in? She of course started on “Party of Five”, that led to a spin-off “Time of Her Life”, and then, following a dip in her film career, “Ghost Whisperer”.

Film wise, Hewitt’s said to be involved in a new Australian thriller called “Dead Whisper”, a “Dreamscape”-esque number about a chick that’s forced to enter her own dreams to find the missing pieces of her past.

According to the film’s producers, Camryn Manheim, who starred opposite Hewitt on “Ghost Whisperer”, is also in talks for a role.

When a guilt-ridden woman, haunted by ghostly voices and nightmares, wakes up in a psychiatric hospital, treated by a well-known psychiatrist, the nightmares escalate, leading them both to an abandoned house where a deadly secret takes shape.

Set to film downunder, “Dead Whisper” was written by Jennifer Buttell-Kersey.

She mightn’t be talking to dead dudes anymore, but life goes on for Jennifer Love Hewitt.
