The trailer for Kelly Asbury’s parent-friendly “Gnomeo and Juliet” is online. The flick, featuring classic music by Elton John (see! told you us oldies will enjoy it!), features the voices of Michael Caine and Emily Blunt.

The promo poster for “Spider-Man 3D” has emerged. Have uploaded it on my Facebook page if you’re interested in having a peep. Don’t expect much. Shit, don’t expect much at all! (They even kept the same font, lazy slingers!)

Seems “The Twilight Saga : Breaking Dawnwon’t be in 3D (they say that now). Is this where I insert a gag about the first three flicks behidn in 1D?

Guy Pearce will play a detective hunting down the spirits of the dead in L.D Napier’s “Mis-Fits“. Catalina Sandino Moreno, Seymour Cassel and Cloris Leachman co-star. No word on ‘Bouncer’ the dog yet. (More…)

John Goodman, so good on “Treme”, has joined the cast of Kevin Smith’s “Red State“. Meanwhile Smith is moonlighting as a radio announcer for Sirius. Howard Stern shakes in his boots.

Gorgeous Spy Kid mam Carla Gugino (TVs “Entourage”) will star opposite Jim Carrey in the feature film adaptation of Richard & Florence Atwater’s “Mr. Popper’s Penguins“. Think it’s safe to say I’ll be seeing this one. (More…)

Mrs Apatow, Leslie Mann (“Funny People”) will star opposite Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman in the body-switching comedy “The Change-Up“. Notice how much more attractive her male co-stars are than the ones Catherine Hicks had to work with on that other body-switching laffer “Like Father, Like Son”!? (More…)

Movie Network Channels announced today that “Underbelly” star Gyton Grantley will be the Ambassador of the online filmmaking competition, MOVIE EXTRA WEBFEST. Grantley will also be part of the judging panel to choose the winner of MOVIE EXTRA WEBFEST. Behind-the-scenes photos from the new Jean-Claude Van Damme/Scott Adkins flick, “Weapon” are online. Photos speak a thousand words…

Jean-Pierre Jeunet may direct and Natalie Portman may star in a dark twist on the “Snow White” fairytale. So long as it’s not so dark it resembles that snoozeworthy Sigourney Weaver take on Grimm from a few years back! (More…)

Gwyneth Paltrow may be playing a substitute teacher on “Glee” later this season. Teach needs an, er, Apple. Geddit!? (More…)

The closing night film of Fantastic Fest will be Takashi Miike’s breathtaking “13 Assassins“. Film had them fist thumping in their seats at the Venice Film Festival. I lie. But I think I might have.

Rachel Weisz will reunite with director Fernando Meirelles (“The Constant Gardener”) for the psychosexual drama “360“. They might as well just call the film “Weisz gets nudie”! (More…)

Gavin Hood (“X-Men Origins : Wolverine”) is said to be eyeing “Enders Game“, a project that’s been in development for the best part of a decade, as his next directing gig. What, “Wolverine 2″ not of any interest, mate? (More…)

The two-seater submersible will be fitted with a heating system and 3-D cameras to capture pictures of the depths for the movie, expected to hit theaters in 2014. No word if Bill Paxton will be manning the vessel. (More…)

Seems it wasn’t actor Steven Bauer (“Scarface”) that killed a pedestrian in Malibu last week, just a chap that shared the same name. Good PR for the actor though! He hasn’t seen his name in print for years! (More…).

James McAvoy, set to play young Professor Charles Xavier in “X-Men : First Class“, tells MTV he hopes to “bury Patrick’s performance…I think the fun about these films, when you go back and you either reboot or do a prequel, is you get to see how people became who they are. That means that you have to do them differently and by the end of the movie you have to do them the same way.” He added: “The interesting journey is what happens to them, what changes them, what makes them evolve – not just mutate, but emotionally and psychologically evolve.” Sounds like a press release, James.

“Lost” fave Jorge Garcia is set for a guest-turn on Matthew Perry’s new series “Mr. Sunshine“. Can he play anyone other than Hurley though? (More…)
