There Can be Only One…. Ghost Rider, but that doesn’t mean Johnny Blaze won’t be without his equally important sparring partners when he returns to the big screen in a couple of years, right!?

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything from Christopher Lambert, hasn’t it? Geez I can’t even think when the last thing we mentioned Lambert was… was it, the “Mortal Kombat” reboot he was suggested to be reprising Rayden (dude with long hair) for? Maybe… God, that was a couple of years ago! Hang on… he was in “Southland Tales”. Briefly. Maybe I mentioned that? Still, that was four years ago!

Alas, the drought is over.

According to the official “Highlander” Facebook page (via Coming Soon), everyone’s favourite MacLeod is in talks to join Nicolas Cage in Marvel’s “Ghost Rider : Spirit of Vengeance”.

No deets on the big guy’s role but since the villain has already been cast there’s a chance Lambert’s playing on the good guy team.

“Ghost Rider 2″ also stars Ciaran Hinds, Idris Elba and Johnny Whitworth. Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor direct.

The story sees Johnny Blaze, aka Ghost Rider (Cage), hiding out in remote Eastern Europe and struggling to repress his curse. Blaze is recruited by a sect to take on the devil (Hinds), who wants to take over his mortal son’s body on the boy’s birthday.

In recent years Lambert has been producing and starring in films back home in France. In fact his last Hollywood movie was the aforesaid “Southland Tales” in 2006.
