Blogs were buzzing yesterday with rumours that ”Pineapple Express” star James Franco was to star in Ridley Scott’s upcoming ”Alien” prequel, and today the star did nothing to squash the rumour.

While promoting his new film ”127 Hours” (directed by ”Slumdog Millionaire”’s Danny Boyle) to Moviehole today, Franco simply said “Yeah, that was weird news, huh?” When asked if the rumours are indeed true, Franco maintained his ambiguity stating “ I just heard about it on the internet, like yesterday.”

Natalie Portman and Anne Hathaway are amongst those also said to be connected to the film.
