Will Smith, the rapper cum actor cum producer who gave us “The Karate Kid” Reincarnated last year, is back at the copy machine, according to Variety. Sony, who produced the latter, are also onboard.

Smith’s remaking musical classic “Annie” (one of my daughter’s favourites; also a film I grew up with, having seen the original at the ‘pictures’ in ’82) with – no surprise – one of his kids in the lead role. In this case, it’s Willow Smith who’ll be playing the, er, dotty, red-haired orphan.

Rapper Jay-Z is in talks to compose the music for the project… which I imagine will go something like “Tomorrow, Tomorrow, Tomorrow, Yo! Wassup! I love ya, peace out!”
