Thriller genre staple and out-and-out hottie Amber Heard (“Drive Angry 3D”, “All the Boys Love Mandy Lane”) is in talks to star in NBC’s “Playboy“. The actress would play a a new hire at the ’60s Playboy club, originally an orphan from Fort Wayne, an inquisitive young woman with an untethered sexuality and a dark past. [Deadline]

Midnight in Paris”, the new film by Woody Allen will open the Festival de Cannes on May 11th in the Lumière theatre, in the presence of the Jury presided by Robert De Niro. The romcom, which was shot last year in the French capital, brings together a broad international cast, including Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams and Marion Cotillard, as well as Kathy Bates, Adrien Brody, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, Gad Elmaleh and Léa Seydoux.

VFX maestro Paul Franklin says you can expect a minimal amount of effects-sprucing on “The Dark Knight Rises“. “No, no, not at all,” Franklin said. “We always start something like this trying to keep it as real as possible.
