Update! : Paramount tell us they’ve reached out to Johnny Depp and he has confirmed he is not acting in “Hugo Cabret”.
It looks like Martin Scorsese’s film adaptation of the Brian Selznick novel “Hugo Cabret” may have more than a producer credit for actor Johnny Depp.
Depp, we’ve been informed by a French reader, was caught on set by photographer Brigitte Lacombe in an issue of “Le Parisien” from last week. We’ve been provided with a scan.
The translated caption reads: “left to right, Johnny Depp as M. Rouleau, Chloe Moretz as Isabella (sic), and Asa Butterfield as Hugo.”
We have also been provided with Depp’s scheduling schedule – his character is number 11.
Set in 1930’s Paris, the story revolves around a 12 year old orphan boy who lives in the walls of a train station and becomes involved in a mystery with his Father and a robot.
The flick will be Scorsese’s first adventure into the 3-D world and is scheduled to release November 23rd, 2011.
