We’ve known for a while that Jeremy Renner makes a cameo as ‘Hawkeye’ in next month’s “Thor” (leading up to the character’s promotion to lead in 2012’s “The Avengers”), and now we know just when and how the character appears.
Cinema Blend – hosted by one of the longest friends in this game, Josh Tyler – attended CinemaCon and were treated to 20 minutes of footage from “Thor” (and “Captain America”). Surprisingly, Paramount opted to include the ‘Hawkeye’ cameo in the film.
Here’s how the site describes Clint Barton’s/Hawkeye’s scene :
“The scene we saw featured Renner as Hawkeye, working with the infamous Agent Coulson, played as he was in the Iron Man movies, by Clark Gregg. The scene features Hawkeye using his famous bow and arrow and he has multiple lines, so while we’re talking about something a little more than a momentary cameo, there’s no way to know if his involvement will go any further than that one scene.”
Small moment for Renner no doubt, but he gets his bigger moment later in the year when he shares top billing with Tom Cruise in “Mission : Impossible – Ghost Protocol”.
