Trailer for The Killer Elite starring Statham, Owen, De Niro

Caffeinated Clint June 23, 2011 Movie News

Proud as punch to see Lachy Hulme, one of my old mates and a regular reader of the site, now mixing with the big boys.

As my fellow countrymen know, Lachy’s been at it for years, appearing in everything from “The Matrix” sequels to Oz laffer “Boytown” and providing his services to quite a few homegrown series’ too (like “Offspring”; he’s terrific in that), but I think it’s fair to say “The Killer Elite” is one of the biggest, if not the biggest credit on his resume.

The movie sees Lachy sharing the screen with the likes of Robert De Niro, Jason Statham, Clive Owen and the adorable Yvonne Strahovski – not too shabby. What I like about Lachy is that he’s more resourceful than an overpaid PR assistant – he moves seamesslley between sinister, sleaze, silly and sympathetic – and more so, looks like he’s enjoying what he does. I haven’t seen the flick yet, but it’s getting good buzz and I’m sure – if only because he wouldn’t want to let those heavyweights down – Lachy brings his A-Game to “The Killer Elite”.

Here’s the trailer for what looks to be an action lover’s delight :

Here’s the official synopsis :

Based on a true story, Killer Elite races across the globe from Australia to Paris, London and the Middle East in the action-packed account of an ex-special ops agent (Jason Statham) who is lured out of retirement to rescue his mentor (Robert De Niro). To make the rescue, he must complete a near-impossible mission of killing three tough-as-nails assassins with a cunning leader (Clive Owen).
