Dreamworks and Fox will pool their money together in an effort to make something cinematiclally-appealing out of the ol’ Daniel H.Wilson novel “Robopocalypse”.

Deadline says the flick, about a robot uprising, will be released by Disney in the states and Fox overseas. Drew Goddard (“Cabin in the Woods”) was on scripting duties.

Steven Spielberg, making a rare return to summer movie popcorn fluff fare, will direct the flick – just as soon as he’s won himself another golden boy for “Lincoln”.

“Robopocalypse” hits July 13, 2013.
