Lautner passes, Hemsworth joins The Expendables 2

Update! : Clint here. Well it’s not that surprising, this bit of news, Jess. Ha. Hemsworth was actually committed to the first “Expendables” movie. Hemsworth was one of six characters cut from the shooting script. No word on whether Hemsworth is returning to play the role he was initially contracted to play. Interestingly enough, this is the same role Taylor Lautner was said to be up for a few weeks back; seems Lautner passed on the ‘who’s got the biggest muscles?’ competition.

Well, this is surprising news. Variety is reporting that Liam Hemsworth, who just wrapped production on ”The Hunger Games”, has joined the cast of Simon West’s ”The Expendables 2”. Hemsworth joins a cast that already includes Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews and Randy Couture, as well as newcomers Jean-Claude Van Damme and Chuck Norris. Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger are also back to expand on their cameos from the first film. When the hell did Chuck Norris go back to making movies?! At the moment, there’s no word on Hemsworth’s role. ”The Expendables 2” will hit theaters on August 17, 2012 release.
