First Natalie Portman (who’s also producing) pulled out, then Emma Stone, Mia Wasikowska and Scarlett Johansson also said no thanks.

But that could all be about to change- Twitch says Gossip Girl star Blake Lively’s been in talks with director Craig Gillespie (“Fright Night”) and has been offered the main role of Elizabeth Bennet in Seth Graheme-Smith’s reworking of the Jane Austen classic.

It’s all still in the very early stages, but would you like to see Blake Lively take the part? Hopefully it’ll get the project off the ground, because it could be a ripper of a film.
