The beautiful Israeli actress Ayelet Zurer has signed on to play the mom of Superman in the upcoming Zack Snyder helmed “Man of Steel”.

Deadline says it’s a done deal and she’ll start filming this week, replacing Julia Ormond as the original Kryptonian Lara Lor-Van. And that’s about all we know about the switch.

You might recognise Zurer from “Angels & Demons, “Vantage Point” and “Munich” alongside Eric Bana. She’s pretty awesome.

Obviously, the film also stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner and Russell Crowe.
